Last week, our primary school in Kabul celebrated Children’s Day. Together with parents and teachers, we ate, sang and laughed. The purpose of this day is to show children that they are valuable and loved. A wonderful day for everyone!
There is also good news beyond this: the school is being expanded to include Years 5 and 6. The government approached us with this request. We are happy to do that. The name has also changed: instead of “Helping Hands School”, the name is now “Lania Now Primary School”, which means “Shelter Now Primary School”.
The school currently has 180 students in grades 1 to 4. An additional 60 children are expected with the expansion. The Montessori method, which is based on the children’s self-managed activities, practical learning and cooperative play, continues to be used. The teachers trained for this support the process.
For the coming school year, we also want to equip a science laboratory and a computer room, in addition to the other running costs.
You can participate here. Intended purpose: “6201 Kabul Primary School”
Many thanks to all those who support us!
